Engineering
- At Raghuvamsi the role of our Engineering team is to develop processes that are efficient, repeatable, and, most importantly, capable of meeting or exceeding the quality requirements of our Customers. We consistently evaluate and utilize the most cutting-edge technologies in our engineering and manufacturing methods.
- Our Engineering team drives our Continuous Improvement initiatives and is focused on employing “Best Practices” at all stages of manufacturing. We design and build our own fixtures for machining, welding and assembly, as well as most of the cutting tools that we use. Our commitment to the use of Statistical Process Control on the shop floor provides an objective method to validate the capabilities of our processes.
- We have a broad experience in collaborating with our Customers on “design for manufacture” activities and have been extensively involved in the development of numerous high-visibility programs across all of the industries that we serve
Precision Machining
- The core of our business is Precision Machining. With more than 2 decades of experience, we have developed broad capabilities across multiple disciplines including CNC Swiss Turning Centers, CNC Multi-Axis Mill-Turn Machines, 5-axis Palletized Machining Centers, EDM and multiple forms of Grinding
- Whether it is ultra-precise turning of tiny missile guidance and optical device components or complex 5-Axis milling of brackets for jet engines, we rely on the skill, dedication and experience of our manufacturing team to produce results that meet our standards for quality, reliability and efficiency. We routinely work to tolerances of 0.0002” (5.0 µm) in machining and 0.0001” (2.5 µm) in grinding
- We have leveraged our size to develop dedicated “part family” machining cells allowing for greater focus on process refinement and increased schedule flexibility for our Customers. Our facility is supported by Raghuvamsi’s Engineering and Quality teams and allows for a lower cost machining option of certain products
Our CNC milling machines are equipped for deep hole drilling,
and many have the capability for four- and five-axis machining.
They also feature pallet-changers allowing for dedicated setups,
minimizing changeover and maximizing productivity. We employ
the use of specialized fixtures for multi-piece machining,
minimizing tool changing time and improving through-put.
Our CNC turning equipment gives us the ability to manufacture
components with extremely tight tolerances. We have the
capability to bore holes as small as 1mm (0.040ʺ) holding
tolerances as close as 0.005mm (0.0002ʺ) in a wide variety of
materials. In addition many of our CNC Turning machines are
equipped with c-axis and high-pressure coolant for deep-hole
drilling. Capabilities: up to 250mm (10.0ʺ) diameter by 300mm
(12.0ʺ) length
Our versatility in producing a variety of part configurations are
enhanced by our CNC Swiss machines, which are equipped with
C-axis sub- and main spindles. Our CNC Swiss machines are also
equipped with high-pressure coolant and hydrostatic bar
feeders.

We have high-precision wire and sinker EDM capabilities for
producing intricate profiles and tight radius contours for parts
up to a 10ʺ cube envelope with tolerances as close as 7.5
microns (.0003ʺ).
We have a wide range of deburring capabilities including highenergy vibratory tumbling, grit blasting, buffing and polishing. In
addition, one of our specialties is high-powered microscopic
deburring up to 40x magnification

Composites
- Raghuvamsi offers build-to-print manufacture and repair of composite and metal-bonded parts, subassemblies, and assemblies in a wide variety of common aerospace materials.
- The company manufactures advanced composite structural parts and assemblies for aerospace and defense applications using carbon and glass fiber materials and autoclave curing technology. Manufacturing output includes composite parts for aircrafts, helicopters, UAV’s and spacecraft’s.
Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Raghuvamsi’s’ broad sheet metal capability ranges from simple shapes to large, highly complex formed parts and assemblies.
- Our processes include brake forming, hydro forming, stretch forming, bulge forming, draw forming, hot forming, laser cutting, high speed routing, and welding of aluminum, titanium, steel, high nickel alloys, and other common aerospace metals
- The aerospace industry demands precise, well-executed metal fabrication parts. Avalon’s aerospace sheet metal fabrication capabilities include in-house engineering and manufacturing to deliver high-quality parts. We also offer manufacturing using high-temperature alloys such as nickel alloys, cobalt alloys. Some of our offerings range from engine parts (combustion liners, labyrinth seals) to cabin interiors (seating, cargo, smoke detectors).
- Our concurrent engineering kitting and assembly solutions and pre-fit assembly processes have helped our customers reduce installation time and part count with improved quality

Surface Treatment
- Raghuvamsi’s full capability in metal and surface treatment facilities provide a comprehensive range of wet and dry metal surface finishes to our customers across the globe. Each of our businesses has quality assurance at the forefront of our operation, ensuring we meet each of our customers specific requirements. Heat treatments, adhesive bonding and descaling are complemented by electroplating expertise in a range of metals supported by unique masking and nondestructive testing capabilities, all approved to Nadcap.
- The management of Special Processes is a crucial element of success in the markets that we serve. We have developed in-house capabilities for many of these processes and currently hold NADCAP certifications for the following:

Fasteners
- Raghuvamsi is a full–fledged manufacturing facility with equipment in-house, ranging from wire draw to special process and quality testing for product qualification.
- The primary customers are from Defense Services, MoD establishments (DRDO, Ordnance Factories.), DPSUs and Space Organizations’ (HAL, BEL, ECIL, BDL, ISRO, BrahMos …) and private OEMs / integrators.
- Marketing is through direct channel to OEM’s. The products are of aerospace standards complying with the quality standards specified by esteemed global customers
- The manufacturing facility specializes in Cold heading, thread rolling, center less grinding, special processes -heat treatment and coatings and well-established quality testing laboratory with hi-tech instruments and testers. The products range from M1.4 to M20 of 200 mm length
Assembly & Weld
- Raghuvamsi’s Assembly processes include mechanical operations such as the installation of Heli-coil® type thread inserts, riveted nut plates, and the press fit of wear point bushings. We also use Roller Swaging to install spherical bearings and Orbital Riveting for specific high-strength joining applications. We build assemblies that contain as few as two to more than thirty unique components. For certain product families we have developed dedicated Assembly Cells.
- We rely on our NADCAP certified Welding team for their expertise in producing numerous turbine engine components including Borescope Plugs, formed Brackets and complex Tube Fitting assemblies. Our Assembly and Weld departments are able to leverage our in-house fixture design and build capabilities to optimize process efficiency and repeatability.
- Our capabilities include full wet assembly of aerostructure components, including, installation of captive nuts using riveting and bonding techniques, and heat and shrink installation of high-performance bushes and proof load testing, all approved to our many customer accreditations.
- Welded assemblies are supported by our fully coded/approved welding approvals. Raghuvamsi can supply diverse complex components such as fuel pipes, ground support equipment and satellite drill fixtures through to military vehicle and lightweight rotary aircraft products. All parts are tested using our in house non-destructive testing inspection techniques, to assure quality and performance in service.
- Raghuvamsi has extensive mechanical assembly and testing capabilities that have been used to design and manufacture fully featured flight simulator seat installations and flat panel trainer seat systems. We also offer the repair and overhaul of control units including flight column and throttle box assemblies. These involve the manufacture and assembly of complex mechanical systems and includes the procurement and fitting of the additional electrical system components. These are supplied fully tested and can be delivered onsite where the installation and certification can be completed.
- The above assembly and testing disciplines, and our complementary manufacturing and treatment capabilities mean that Raghuvamsi can provide our customers with a real “Full Turnkey Solution” for the manufacture of simple to complex assembled products.

- Our cable and wire harness assemblies cover commercial and MIL-SPEC applications and designs. Avalon’s integrated manufacturing facility supports custom wire harness. The facilities comprise state of over-molding, soldering, and harness braiding.
